De spanske myndighetene oppfordrer befolkningen mer enn noen gang å la seg vaksinere mot influensa. Oppfordringen er spesielt henrettet til folk over 65 år. Det spanske helsevesenet frykter et kollaps på landets sykehus og legesentre, hvis alt for mange eldre rammes hardt av årets vinterinfluensa. Flere steder i Spania er sykehusene og legesentrene allerede hardt presset som følge avCovid-19 viruset. I motsetning til tidligere, kan influensavaksinen ikke kjøpes på landets apoteker. Vaksinen fås kun via det offentlige Seguridad Social, som vil sette opp paviljonger på sentrale plasser over hele landet i de kommende uker og måneder. Det kan skape litt kø, men til gjengjeld blir vaksinen gratis for alle.
