Til tross for vanskelige tider, blomstrer den lokale IT-sektoren. Noen av Málagas nye IT-selskaper, som Freepik, Ingenia, Hispasec, Virustotal og Solbyte, nøler ikke med å øke medarbeiderstaben. Siden Coronakrisens utbrudd i mars har de overstående selskapene fortsatt vokst og førstnevnte selskap har bare i løpet av våren ansatt 30 nye medarbeidere. De fleste av Málagas IT-firmaer holder til i teknologiparken (PTA) litt utenfor byen, men grunnet plassmangel søker nå flere selskaper inn til byen. Dette er motivet bak det nye ambisiøse kontorprosjektet i forlengelse av Málagas nye lystbåthavn, Muelle Uno.
