Bankenes omfattende omorganiseringer og kutt rammer flere kunder – ikke minst de eldre. Flere spanske forbrukerorganisasjoner har lenge påpekt at mange pensjonister har vanskeligheter med helt grunnleggende ting som å ta ut penger. Tidligere kunne man henvende seg i kassen i banken, men i dag har de fleste banker kun åpent for denne typen tjenester noen timer i uken, eller enda verre – det finnes ikke lenger noen fysisk bank i nærområdet. Dette er tilfelle i 26 av de 103 kommunene i Málaga-provinsen, som i dag kun har minibanker. Generelt ønsker forbrukerorganisasjonene bedre service for de eldre som ikke greier å benytte nettbank.
