I løpet av Corona-krisen har det vært debatt om effekten og nødvendigheten av å bruke munnbind. Så langt har det kun vært obligatorisk å bruke munnbind mens man benytter offentlig transport, men myndighetene endrer nå retningslinjene. Fremover blir det obligatorisk å bære munnbind i alle lukkede rom, i butikker, klinikker og alle andre steder der anbefalt sikkerhetsavstand på to meter ikke er mulig. I løpet av uken vil helsedepartementet gå ut med de helt spesifikke retningslinjene. Det nye påbudet kommer som et resultat av at nesten hele Spania nå er i Fase 1, noe som gir større bevegelsesfrihet for individet, samt muligheten for å gjenåpne butikker og restauranter.
