Det utstedes trafikkbøter som aldri før i Spania. I det siste året har det blitt utstedt litt over 4,5 millioner bøter, hvilket tilsvarer 500 bøter i timen! Det er en stigning på nesten ti prosent og ny rekord. Tallene fra samferdselsdepartementet viser at andalusierne langt fra er noen elitekjørere. Over én million av bøtene (22 prosent) er nemlig utstedt i Andalucía. To ut av tre bøter utstedes for ikke å overholde fartsgrensen, hvilket neppe overrasker noen. Derimot vekker det mer oppsikt at over ti prosent av bøtene utstedes til bilister for ikke å ha hatt deres kjøretøy på biltilsynet. Forseelse nummer tre på ”bøtelisten” er kjøring uten bilbelte, fulgt av kjøring under påvirkning av alkohol eller narkotika.
