I fjor hjalp Røde Kors 1 051 hjemløse i Málaga-provinsen. Det er verken færre eller flere enn forventet, og tallet bekrefter at provinsen i likhet med resten av Spania fortsatt sliter med sosiale problemer. Når Røde Kors kontaktes for å hjelpe en hjemløs person, yter de ikke bare medisinsk hjelp. De sørger nå også for at den hjemløse kommer til et såkalt “atención sanitaria”-senter hvor han eller hun får mat, drikke, et teppe og/eller klær, samt en toalettveske. Blant de tusen utrykningene til hjemløse i fjor skjedde 259 i det ellers så glamorøse Marbella.
